Abuntu

As you may be able to tell, I use open source software to do most of my work, as well as the day to day work on my computer. My prefered OS is Ubuntu Linux, and the circle up there is the main icon of Ubuntu, the circle of friends.

I added the A (making the circle-A anarchist symbol) for many reasons. From the Linux side, I feel that there are many people with radical politics like my own who don't realize the importance of the FOSS movement. Computers are the media now, and if Microsoft/Apple is controlling computers then they are controlling the media.

From the anarchist side, I think that a lot of people who self-identify as anarchists, or other radical theories, develop a worse ego then some statists. The Ubuntu circle of friends logo represents the Ubuntu community (for those that don't know, Ubuntu is entirely community run. We program the OS, build new applications, and provide our own tech support) and I think that it is a fitting symbol to remind us that without each other we are nothing, and we need a community if we wish to change the world.
